Step by step
- Set up a password you can keep safe, then unlock ZeroNet Space.
- Use the import action to select the photos or videos you want to store. Allow only the source access you need.
- Wait for import to finish and open several imported items to verify they are readable.
- Choose an auto-lock setting and return to the app to check the lock behavior.
- Decide separately what to do with copies in Photos, Files or cloud storage. Importing into a vault does not prove those other copies are gone.
Before you rely on it
Before changing devices or uninstalling, make and verify a separate copy of important content. A local-only vault is not an automatic backup. The free tier has a 75-item media/file allowance; VIP removes the import cap but cannot add physical device storage.

Can I use a vault without an account?

Does encrypted storage redact a shared file?
Encrypted storage controls access to a stored copy. Redaction changes what a recipient can see in a shared copy. ZeroNet Space is a local encrypted vault; ZeroNet Redact is a separate photo, video and PDF redaction app. Choose based on whether your goal is keeping a file private or sharing only part of its information.
